In a major step toward rural upliftment and housing development, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has launched a massive housing initiative benefitting 561 villages across the state. Under this campaign, thousands of landless families are receiving residential plot allotments along with financial subsidies to support home construction and basic amenities.
The allotments are part of the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana 2.0, a state-driven scheme aiming to provide land and housing to economically weaker sections. At a recent event in Panchkula, CM Saini personally handed over plot allotment letters to 3,884 beneficiaries from 58 villages. The broader scheme covers over 1.58 lakh applications, targeting landless rural families across 561 villages.
Each selected family is entitled to a 100-square yard residential plot. In areas where land is not available, the government offers ₹1 lakh assistance for land purchase. Additionally, beneficiaries receive ₹1.38 lakh subsidy under PMAY-Gramin to build homes, along with ₹12,000 for constructing a toilet under the Swachh Bharat Mission, and 90 days of MGNREGA wages to support household income during construction.

In urban areas, the Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana is also seeing strong implementation. For example, in Jagadhri’s Sector-23, 1,144 families were given ownership certificates, and across 14 cities, over 15,000 poor urban families have been allotted 30-square yard plots. These urban beneficiaries are also eligible for up to ₹2.5 lakh assistance under PMAY-Urban.
CM Saini stressed that the entire selection process was digital and transparent, ensuring no favoritism or political bias. He also criticized past governments for neglecting the housing needs of the poor, contrasting their inaction with the proactive delivery of the current administration.
This initiative is more than just land distribution—it’s a holistic push to provide land, financial support, sanitation, and livelihood to the underserved, transforming the future of thousands of families in Haryana’s villages.
