Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, has unveiled its most ambitious step in technology yet—placing Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the core of its future growth. At the 2025 Annual General Meeting, Ambani announced the launch of Reliance Intelligence, a wholly owned subsidiary that will focus on building advanced AI solutions, infrastructure, and research capabilities for India.
The company’s AI journey is not new. In 2024, Reliance introduced Jio Brain, a platform integrating AI, 5G, and cloud technologies for sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and small businesses. Building on this, Reliance now aims to scale its AI ambitions to a national level, ensuring that cutting-edge technology is not limited to urban centers but also benefits rural India.
Strategic Partnerships to Accelerate AI Growth
Reliance is joining forces with global tech giants to strengthen its AI backbone. A ₹855 crore joint venture with Meta will develop enterprise-ready AI tools for Indian businesses. At the same time, a collaboration with Google is setting up clean-energy-powered AI data centers in Jamnagar, blending Reliance’s connectivity with Google Cloud’s computing power.

In addition, Reliance is working with NVIDIA to provide GPU-as-a-service for developers and enterprises, enabling large-scale AI model training and deployment. Existing platforms such as Haptik (conversational AI), Embibe (AI-driven education), and Asteria Aerospace (AI-enabled drones) further add to Reliance’s diversified AI ecosystem.
India-Centric AI: BharatGPT
One of the most significant initiatives is BharatGPT, developed with IIT Bombay. This large language model is being designed to work across multiple Indian languages and industries, making AI accessible to millions who do not use English as their primary medium.
Driving India’s AI Future
Mukesh Ambani has made it clear that Reliance’s AI strategy is not about hardware manufacturing but about creating real-world applications that solve everyday challenges. From smarter farming solutions and personalized education tools to healthcare diagnostics, AI will be a central pillar of Reliance’s transformation.
With Reliance Intelligence, the company is positioning itself as a leader in India’s AI revolution, ensuring that the benefits of advanced technologies reach every corner of the country
