Mahindra has rolled out the much-awaited 2025 facelift of the Thar in October, giving India’s favourite off-roader a fresh dose of style, comfort, and technology. While the SUV retains its tough and adventurous personality, the new updates make it more appealing for both urban buyers and off-road enthusiasts.
On the design front, the Thar now features a reworked grille finished in body colour along with a dual-tone front bumper that adds a premium touch. The SUV also comes in new colour options like Tango Red and Battleship Grey, in addition to the existing shades such as Deep Forest, Galaxy Grey, and Everest White. The 18-inch alloy wheels continue to dominate its stance but with slight cosmetic tweaks to keep things fresh.
Inside the cabin, Mahindra has made significant improvements to enhance practicality and passenger comfort. The dashboard now sports an all-black theme, complemented by a new steering wheel. A larger 10.25-inch HD infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility has been added for a more connected driving experience. Convenience features such as rear AC vents, a sliding centre armrest with storage, door-mounted power window switches, and an A-pillar grab handle improve day-to-day usability. Small but thoughtful additions like a dashboard fuel-lid release, rear wiper and washer, and tyre direction monitoring system underline Mahindra’s focus on details.

The Thar 2025 also introduces the upgraded Adventure Stats Gen II, which provides off-road data such as slope angles, steering inputs, and altitude details. For those who love exploring tough terrains, the SUV still maintains its impressive approach and departure angles, ground clearance, and water-wading ability.
In terms of powertrains, Mahindra continues to offer multiple choices. The line-up includes a 1.5-litre diesel engine for the entry-level variant, a 2.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 2.2-litre diesel. Depending on the variant, buyers can opt for a manual or automatic transmission, with both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrain options available.
Pricing for the new Thar starts at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base diesel RWD variant, while the top-end 2.2-litre diesel 4×4 automatic goes up to ₹16.99 lakh.
In summary, the Mahindra Thar 2025 brings smarter features, refined interiors, and better convenience without compromising its legendary off-road DNA. With prices kept competitive, it is set to attract a wider range of buyers who want a mix of everyday comfort and adventurous capability in one package.
