The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the Information Bulletin for JEE (Main) 2026, announcing important details for India’s premier engineering entrance examination. The exam will again be conducted in two sessions — the first in January 2026 and the second in April 2026 — giving candidates two opportunities to improve their scores.
According to the notification, Session 1 registration is open from 31 October 2025 to 27 November 2025 (till 9 PM), while the exam will be held between 21 January 2026 and 30 January 2026. The Session 2 registration will begin in the last week of January 2026, and the exam will be conducted from 2 April 2026 to 9 April 2026. Results are expected by 12 February 2026 for Session 1 and 20 April 2026 for Session 2.
Application Process & Fee
Candidates must register online at https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/registration-for-jeemain-2026-session-1-is-live/ The application process includes registration, form filling, document upload, and online fee payment. The fee structure for exam centres in India is as follows:
- General (Male) – ₹1,000; Female – ₹800
- EWS/OBC (NCL) – ₹900 (Male), ₹800 (Female)
- SC/ST/PwD – ₹500 for both genders
For exam centres outside India, fees range between ₹2,500 and ₹5,000 per session.

Candidates can apply for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), Paper 2A (B.Arch), and Paper 2B (B.Planning). The exam will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode except for the drawing section of Paper 2A, which will be conducted offline.
Eligibility and Exam Pattern
There is no age limit for appearing in JEE (Main) 2026. Candidates who passed or are appearing for Class 12 in 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible. The exam will be offered in 13 languages, following the National Education Policy (NEP).
Each subject—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—carries equal weightage, with negative marking for incorrect answers. The exam duration is three hours, extended for PwD candidates using a scribe.
