The Jolly LLB franchise has long stood out in Bollywood for blending satire, humour, and courtroom drama with pressing social issues. The first film in 2013, led by Arshad Warsi, exposed corruption in a hit-and-run case. Its mix of wit and realism struck a chord with audiences. The 2017 sequel with Akshay Kumar shifted focus to fake police encounters, again delivering a sharp critique of the justice system.
The much-awaited Jolly LLB 3 released on 19 September 2025, and this time director Subhash Kapoor brings together both Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. The unique concept of two “Jollys” clashing in the courtroom gives fans a rare opportunity to watch their contrasting styles collide—Akshay with his intensity and dramatic flair, and Arshad with his comic timing and grounded presence. Their on-screen chemistry has been widely appreciated, with many calling it the heart of the film.

The plot deals with one of India’s most sensitive issues—farmer suicides and land acquisition conflicts. The story follows a farmer who ends his life after losing his land, leaving behind a widow who dares to fight for justice against powerful corporate and political interests. The courtroom becomes the battleground, with both Jollys arguing from different sides, forcing the audience to question what true justice really means. Judge Sunder Lal Tripathi, played once again by Saurabh Shukla, adds humour and gravitas, often stealing scenes with his sharp one-liners and exasperated expressions.
Audience reactions have been encouraging. While some felt the first half moved at a slower pace, the second half has been praised for its gripping drama and emotional depth. The courtroom face-offs, sprinkled with humour, have been described as a perfect balance of entertainment and social relevance. Critics note that the film may lack some of the sharp satire of earlier installments, but the strong performances, emotional weight, and timely theme make it a worthy continuation.
At the box office, Jolly LLB 3 had a solid start, collecting around ₹12.5 crore on its opening day and jumping to ₹32 crore in just two days. With strong word-of-mouth and fan enthusiasm, the film looks set for a successful run, ensuring the “Jolly” legacy continues.
