Kinner Kailash is one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism, believed to be the mythological winter abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It holds special significance for both Hindus and Buddhists, who revere the towering 79-foot vertical Shivling rock at ~4,800 meters altitude as a divine symbol of creation and destruction.
This sacred rock formation is said to change color with the position of the sun, reflecting the dynamic presence of Shiva himself. Devotees from across India and abroad undertake this tough trek with deep faith, often chanting “Om Namah Shivaya” as they ascend. The journey is not just physical but a deeply spiritual experience, believed to cleanse sins and bring divine blessings.
