The 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has been released, marking another milestone in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious plan to uplift the farming community of India. Launched in 2019, this central sector scheme offers financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmers, distributed in three equal installments. The release of the 20th installment reaffirms the government’s continued support to millions of marginal farmers across the country.
PM Modi’s Vision and Achievements through PM-KISAN
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always emphasized “Annadata Sukhibhava” – the welfare of those who feed the nation. Under his leadership, over 11 crore farmers have benefited from the PM-KISAN scheme. With each installment, ₹2,000 is directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible farmers using Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) technology, ensuring transparency and eliminating middlemen.
Till now, more than ₹3 lakh crore has been disbursed through this scheme. The 20th installment alone has seen an outlay of over ₹18,000 crore, benefitting lakhs of farmers and boosting their purchasing power before the Rabi season.

Farmers across various states have expressed gratitude and relief upon receiving the installment. For many small and marginal farmers, this timely financial aid helps in purchasing seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs. Some farmers mentioned that even though the amount may not cover all expenses, it offers valuable support, especially in times of crop failure or inflation in input costs.
