The Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra is not just a pilgrimage—it is a sacred test of devotion, endurance, and surrender to the divine. This year, the yatra will take place from 10th July to 23rd July 2025, drawing thousands of Lord Shiva devotees from across the country. For those who seek spiritual growth and wish to witness the majestic beauty of the Himalayas, Shrikhand Mahadev is a must-visit.
Located at a height of 18,570 feet, the Shrikhand Mahadev Shivling is a naturally formed vertical rock, believed to be the symbolic form of Lord Shiva himself. According to legends, Bhim, one of the Pandavas, took this path to seek Shiva during the Mahabharata era. It is also believed that Lord Shiva meditated here, making the region immensely sacred.
The spiritual energy, the silence of the mountains, and the devotion of fellow pilgrims create an atmosphere where bhakti (devotion) and shakti (power) merge. The trek tests one’s physical limits and strengthens one’s faith, which is why every devotee should undertake this journey at least once in a lifetime.
Shrikhand Mahadev is located in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh, near the village of Jaon, which serves as the base camp for the yatra.
