Tata Motors has officially launched the Adventure X and Adventure X+ variants of its popular SUVs — Harrier and Safari — in August 2025. This strategic update not only introduces fresh features but also simplifies the model line-up, making it easier for buyers to choose.
New Line-Up Structure
To improve clarity for customers, Tata has reduced the number of Harrier variants from 11 to 6 and the Safari range from 11 to 5. This means fewer overlapping trims and a more straightforward value ladder. The new Adventure X and X+ slots in as feature-rich, mid-to-upper level options within this condensed range.
Pricing of New Variants
- Harrier Adventure X – ₹18.99 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Harrier Adventure X+ – ₹19.34 lakh
- Safari Adventure X+ – ₹19.99 lakh
This competitive pricing positions them attractively against similarly equipped SUVs in the mid-size and full-size segments.
Key Added Features
Both the Harrier and Safari Adventure X variants bring a host of upgrades over the lower trims, focusing on comfort, tech, and safety:

- Level-2 ADAS suite, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking (X+ variants).
- 360° surround-view camera for safer manoeuvring.
- 26 cm Ultra-View twin-screen system – high-resolution infotainment plus driver display.
- Trail Response Modes (Normal, Rough, Wet) for varied terrain adaptability.
- Electronic parking brake with auto hold and Trail Hold function.
- Premium interiors – Harrier gets Onyx Trail black-tan theme, Safari gets Adventure Oak tan upholstery.
- Wireless charging, air purifier, multi-drive modes (City, Sport, Eco).
- Sunroof with voice activation (Safari X+).
- All-wheel disc brakes and electronic stability control for improved safety.
Both SUVs retain the 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine (170 bhp, 350 Nm) with manual and automatic gearbox choices.
The launch of the Adventure X series signals Tata’s focus on offering premium, tech-rich SUVs at accessible prices, a trend gaining momentum in the Indian auto market. By combining advanced driver aids, off-road capabilities, and luxury features in mid-range trims, Tata is setting a new benchmark for what customers can expect without stepping into the top-end price bracket.
Industry analysts note that such feature-heavy launches from homegrown brands could intensify competition in the SUV space, prompting other manufacturers to upgrade their offerings. For Tata, this move strengthens its position in a segment where consumer expectations for tech, safety, and comfort are growing rapidly.
