TVS Motor Company has officially stepped into the adventure-touring segment with its brand-new TVS Apache RTX 300. Launched at an introductory price of ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the bike is available in three trims — Base (₹1.99 lakh), Top (₹2.14 lakh), and Build-To-Order (BTO) at around ₹2.29 lakh.
Powering the RTX 300 is a 299.1cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 36 PS at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch. It’s based on TVS’s new RT-XD4 platform and comes loaded with tech — including a bi-directional quick-shifter, ride-by-wire throttle, multiple ride modes (Urban, Rain, Tour, Rally), dual-channel ABS, and a full-colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
In terms of hardware, the bike is built on a steel trellis frame with long-travel suspension — USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear — offering impressive comfort and control both on highways and uneven roads. The setup ensures a balance between touring convenience and mild off-road capability.
Adventure motorcycles have witnessed a strong surge in popularity across India. Riders are increasingly opting for bikes that can tackle diverse terrains — from highways to rough hill tracks — making adventure-tourers an ideal fit. The segment has evolved into a lifestyle choice, catering to enthusiasts who seek versatility and long-distance comfort.

With more Indian riders embracing touring culture, the adventure bike market continues to expand, and brands like TVS are seizing this momentum.
Price & Competition
Priced at ₹1.99 lakh, the Apache RTX 300 positions itself smartly among rivals:
- Yezdi Adventure: ₹2.00 lakh (approx.)
- Suzuki V-Strom SX: ₹2.00 lakh (approx.)
- KTM 250 Adventure: ₹2.40 lakh (approx.)
For its price, the RTX 300 offers excellent value, especially considering its premium features and newly-developed engine platform.
Strengths & Caveats
Highlights:
- Class-leading features like a quick-shifter, TFT display, and multiple ride modes.
- Strong pricing and extensive TVS service network.
- Ideal for touring and everyday commuting.
Considerations:
- More of a road-focused adventure-tourer than a hardcore off-roader.
- Seat height (~835 mm) and kerb weight (~180 kg) may not suit all riders.
- Accessory and parts availability will take time to expand.
In conclusion, the TVS Apache RTX 300 enters the Indian adventure motorcycle space at the perfect time. With its modern features, competitive pricing, and touring-oriented design, it stands out as a well-rounded choice for riders who crave both adventure and comfort.
