The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has unveiled a brand-new Online Application Portal to streamline the registration process for various examinations. Effective May 28, 2025, candidates will now be required to complete their application through the newly introduced platform available at https://upsconline.nic.in.
Key Features of the New UPSC Application Portal:
- Four-Part Structure: The portal is divided into four sections:
- Account Creation – Setting up candidate profiles.
- Universal Registration – A common registration applicable across all examinations.
- Common Application Form – Generic details that can be pre-filled for any exam.
- Examination-Specific Details – Notifications, exam applications, and status updates.
- Anytime Registration: Candidates can pre-fill three sections in advance, reducing last-minute rush when examination notifications are announced.
- Mandatory Document Upload: All applicants must upload fresh documents in the new portal. The old One Time Registration (OTR) module will no longer be applicable.
- Aadhaar-Based Authentication: UPSC strongly recommends using Aadhaar Card for seamless verification, making it a permanent record for future applications.

The portal’s launch coincides with the registration openings for CDS Exam-II, 2025 and NDA & NA-II, 2025. Candidates must use the UPSC Online Application Portal for submissions.
For further guidance, detailed instructions are available on the homepage. Aspirants are encouraged to explore the new system early to familiarize themselves with the upgraded process.
